Winside principals report on curriculum alignment, MTSS progress and new activities

High School Principal David Schmit reported on ELA curriculum alignment and recent high school events. He said a chess club has been started with plans to explore expansion into competition and that staff have begun work to revamp Student Assistance forms for upper grades. Schmit also said administrators are researching policy adjustments involving Saturday School, after-school study hall, semester exams, eligibility timelines and how late work is handled in grading.
Both principals provided updated enrollment numbers, summarized progress on the district’s MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) as part of school improvement work, and listed upcoming school activities for the board’s information.
