River Ridge CDD accepts resignation, seeks candidates to fill Seat 1

The River Ridge Community Development District board accepted the resignation of Supervisor James Gilman from Seat 1 (term through November 2026) during its Aug. 27 meeting.

Cleo Adams presented Mr. Gilman’s resignation letter. After discussion, Kurt Blumenthal moved and Robert Twombly seconded a motion to accept the resignation; the board approved the motion unanimously. The board noted Mr. Gilman had represented The Meadows and agreed to pursue an appointment to fill the unexpired term rather than hold a special election.

The board directed that Mr. Long and The Meadows’ property-owner association manager send an e-blast to residents announcing the vacancy, detailing candidate qualifications and requesting resumes or letters of interest in advance of the next meeting. Administrative items associated with appointment — including administration of the oath of office, required ethics training, Form 1 instructions, and guidance on the Sunshine Amendment and the Code of Ethics for Public Officers — were listed to be provided in a separate packet and were deferred for follow-up.

District staff will compile candidate materials and present them at the next meeting for the board’s consideration.
