Guthrie seeks community input for park grant application from Todd County

GUTHRIE — Guthrie city staff told the City Council on Nov. 12 that the city is eligible for a portion of a Todd County park grant and asked the council to solicit ideas from residents and develop cost estimates for an application.
City Clerk Alison Blumel said Todd County has received a grant to distribute to five entities and that Guthrie’s park is one of the intended recipients. She asked the council and community to identify priorities and provide estimates the city will include with its application.
Ideas raised at the meeting included adding shade adjacent to the playground, paving the parking lot, constructing a building for concessions, installing ADA-accessible play equipment, and adding picnic tables. No submission deadline or award amounts were stated in the minutes.
Council did not take a formal vote on park design or funding at the meeting; the discussion was recorded as part of new business and staff was directed to gather citizen input and prepare the required estimates before submission.
