Residents flag persistent Pinehurst drainage and ponding; engineer to inspect

During public comment at the River Ridge Community Development District meeting on July 23, resident Shari Perkins reported ongoing drainage problems at the Pinehurst monument and said a retention pond between River 8 and River 9 "appears to be non-functional" and is nearly 1 foot above the drain, a concern she relayed from resident Fred Kronke.

Ms. Perkins asked the Board to consider addressing two drains at the Pinehurst monument. A Board member asked whether there is video of water bubbling out of the drain; Ms. Perkins said she has photographs and will obtain video footage and provide it to CDD staff. District Engineer John Baker described the plugged inlet as leaving "no place for the water to go" and said addressing the problem "will likely require additional study." The Board directed the District Engineer to view the drainage firsthand.

Chuck Adams clarified that all water ultimately flows into the Estero River and described the pipe routing (between two houses, across the street, across the golf course and into the ditch that runs down to the River Club). The Board also discussed an estimate (MRI Construction Estimate #C060-24) for a Type 9 inlet top in the amount of $10,692.88 to keep debris from blocking the structure; Mr. Adams said an additional proposal is being obtained and the item will remain on the agenda.

The District requested resident-supplied photos/video and will schedule an on-site inspection by the District Engineer to determine next steps.
