Commission reinvests $51,185 CD; hears Rumpke service update and schedules Oct. 6 block party

Treasurer Strebel presented the report and the commission unanimously approved reinvesting a matured $51,185 CD for six months at about 4.73%. The commission also decided not to pursue additional leaf-pickup programs after Rumpke agreed to weekly yard-waste pickup starting in November and confirmed the Druid Hills Block Party for Oct. 6.

At the Sept. 9 meeting the Druid Hills City Commission approved a motion to reinvest a matured certificate of deposit of $51,185 for six months at an approximate quoted rate of 4.73 percent. Treasurer Strebel presented the treasurer's report; Commissioner Jackie Gibbs moved to reinvest the CD and Commissioner Charles Jobson seconded. The motion passed unanimously. A separate motion to approve the Treasurer's Report also passed unanimously.
