Community Enrichment Director Nick Neaton said the additional funds will support planned events including a Tea Party and Fashion Show Through the Decades on Sept. 13 (free and open to the public), a sesquicentennial Jamboree on Oct. 3, and performances and screenings tied to community history. Neaton reminded the Council that all grant funds must be expended by Oct. 31 and said additional budget amendments may be necessary as planning continues.
Representatives of the Delano Royalty Ambassadors Scholarship Program, Aimee Dreger and Rheanna Jerde, spoke about a planned fundraising and community event and noted volunteers are collecting vintage teacups and saucers for the Fashion Show. The Council approved the Legacy Grant budget amendment following a motion by Becky Schaust, seconded by Jason Franzen.
