He said Snake River’s estimated match would be about $103,320. Kress also said some technology purchases would support the district’s emergency plan and that several staff members worked long hours to complete the application.
Kress asked the board for direction on a proposal to give 10% of the district’s grant amount to staff who helped prepare the application. Trustees discussed how such a payment would be structured and requested more information at the next meeting before making a final decision on that proposal.
After discussion the board moved to accept the RUS grant and authorize the estimated 15% local match. The motion passed unanimously (5–0).
The district will use grant funds for classroom technology, inter-school communications (including possible university connections), and items that could help the district’s emergency plan. Details on the project list, procurement, and the final match amount were not specified at the meeting; district staff will report back with specifics and any recommended allocations for application‑team compensation.
