Montgomery County approves routine renewals, appropriations and two local legislative items

- Origami Risk LLC subscription renewal for Risk Management: the packet shows a three‑year order form with total annual fees of $36,925 after a discount, covering full user licenses, hosting and client support.
- Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) employee benefit enrollment renewals: documents show administrative fees rising to $49.65 per health claim in Oct. 2025 (and to $50.65 in Oct. 2026) and a dental claim fee of $2.35 in Oct. 2025.
- Contract with The Jones Group, LLC for governmental relations and strategic communications at $144,000 for Sept. 1, 2025–Aug. 31, 2026; the contract includes termination and dispute‑resolution provisions.
- Lighting services agreement with Alabama Power Company for the Flatwood Storm Shelter, including installation of an LED roadway fixture and estimated regulated/monthly costs in the packet.
- Miscellaneous appropriations: the packet lists per‑commissioner appropriations totaling $49,500 to community agencies and $17,300 to education programs, plus designated‑revenue appropriations of $8,500.
- A waived‑rules item approving the FY2025–2026 Traffic Enforcement Grant Agreement for the Sheriff’s Office and multiple travel/training requests across departments.
The Commission also approved two items for the county’s 2026 legislative agenda: HB424, which in its draft packet would amend §45‑51‑231.01 concerning the sheriff’s expense allowance and lists an adjusted annual sheriff salary figure, and HB602, which would amend §45‑51‑84 to set the judge of probate’s compensation (the packet lists $153,725 for the individual serving on June 1, 2025).
