At the Oct. 6 meeting, the Grafton Select Board voted to advertise a supply of town wood for residents to collect. The motion, made and seconded, directed staff to post a notice on the town website and to contact two residents the board knows are interested, Mark and Russell, so they can arrange pickup.
Committee members discussed liability if people cut wood on site and recommended that interested residents must remove the wood themselves. Pricing was left to the picker, with one member describing the arrangement as “best offer” and observing that the board should make clear whether it would be first-come, first-served.
The board approved the motion without recorded roll-call names beyond the mover and second. The Chair asked staff to coordinate pickup logistics and to place the notice on the town website and community email list so residents without internet access can be informed.
The action is administrative: staff will post the notice and contact known interested residents so arrangements can be made for removal.
