River Ridge CDD accepts supervisor James Gilman's resignation and launches appointment outreach

The River Ridge Community Development District Board accepted the resignation of Supervisor James Gilman (Seat 1, term through November 2026) during its Aug. 27 meeting.

Mrs. Adams presented Mr. Gilman’s resignation letter and said Mr. Gilman "represented The Meadows for the last eight years." The Board discussed that filling the vacancy will be an appointment rather than an election. The Board asked that Mr. Long and The Meadows’ POA manager e‑blast residents to inform them of the vacancy, explain candidate qualification requirements, and request resumes or letters of interest before the next meeting.

The administration of the Oath of Office and required ethics training and disclosure filing materials (including Form 1 and Form 8B guidance and a guide to the Sunshine Amendment and Code of Ethics) were noted and deferred for inclusion in a separate package. The Board accepted the resignation on a motion by Supervisor Kurt Blumenthal, seconded by Supervisor Robert Twombly; the motion carried with all in favor.

The Board directed staff to include the candidate résumé submitted by a friend of Mr. Gilman on the next agenda and to notify interested residents about submission deadlines and qualification criteria.
