Commission gives first reading to engineering standards and sidewalk-distance changes

City Engineer Nick Waters presented two ordinances to the City Commission on Feb. 3, 2026: Ordinance 1887, to add sections adopting the City of Pierre Engineering Design and Construction Standards, and Ordinance 1888, to amend Section 6-3-106 governing distance of sidewalks from street lines, curb lines, and property lines and to move the exceptions list into the engineering standards appendix.
