Planning commission’s 10% permit-fee increase approved, locked for five years
Commissioners approved a planning-department motion to raise permit fees 10% across the board to create a nonreverting building fund; the increase cannot take effect for 180 days and will remain fixed for five years.

The planning department presented ordinance 2026-PC-06 to replace the 2016 permit-fee schedule with a 10% across-the-board increase, creating a nonreverting building fund to cover rising operating costs. The planning representative (S11) said the department had not raised fees since 2016 and needs new revenue to cover fuel, vehicle and inspection costs.
