Town advances comprehensive plan procurement, MiniCode and trail grant work

Adam told the board the town has completed interviews with three finalist firms for its first comprehensive plan and is moving toward selecting a consultant.

He said the town held a wastewater update with Garver and received 30% designs from ODOT for a lane‑expansion project so sewer infrastructure can be aligned with road work. “We got the 30% plans from ODOT for the lane expansion project,” Adam said, noting coordination is under way.

The town has begun MiniCode (municipal code) development with CivicPlus to make ordinances searchable and easier to access on the website; Adam thanked Liz for her help getting the work started. He said the town still needs a skeletonized comprehensive plan before final zoning regulations can be adopted and described the skeleton plan as a short term, bare‑bones effort to meet state requirements while the larger plan proceeds.

Adam said the old web designer was released and a new developer is integrating Hochatown’s historic and modern identities into the site, using examples such as the Choctaw Landing resort casino site for storytelling and mapping historical resources.

He also highlighted two grant opportunities for trails: a $750,000 grant that carries only a 15% local match requirement and a second $300,000 grant. Adam said the town will need a sidewalks/trails master plan to support applications and implementation.

Next steps include selecting a comprehensive‑plan consultant, finalizing MiniCode integration, completing coordination with ODOT on sewer placement and preparing a trails master plan to pursue grant funding.
