Senator Brandon Anthon introduced S 1199 as a set of amendments to the Idaho Parental Rights Act of 2024 intended to clarify parental and minor decision-making in health-related matters. He said the bill "intended to preserve the inherent rights of parents to make decisions for their children in health-related matters" while adding a statute of limitations, defining a minor child to include pregnancy and parenthood, authorizing testing of newborns for illegal drugs, and addressing sexual molestation.
