Bill, representing the county maintenance department, said he preferred a three‑year contract and that Otis’s clause would allow the county to give a 90‑day warning to correct problems and back out if necessary. "I don't foresee any problems with Otis elevator," Bill said, and recommended moving forward with Otis for elevators in every county building, including the lift at the government center.
A motion to accept the Otis Elevator agreement was moved and seconded; commissioners approved it by voice vote and authorized the chair to affix a signature to the contract.
