Owner at 395 S 200 E told to apply for permit after unpermitted accessory structure found

Code Enforcement Officer Trevor Peterson was unable to attend the meeting. Property owner Wes Von Rolleston appeared and acknowledged the accessory structure on his property had not been permitted. He told the council that four loads of debris and materials had been removed to the City dumpster as previously directed and said the structure "was clean inside and contained no junk or animals."

Council discussed setback requirements (3-foot rear setback for structures located more than 10 feet behind a house, absent utility conflicts) and agreed the appropriate next step was for the owner to apply for a building permit and have the county inspect the structure to determine any required modifications. City Recorder Allison Leavitt provided Mr. Von Rolleston and renter Martin Gallegos with a building permit application and instructed them to submit it as soon as possible.

Councilmember Perry Payne moved that the property owner obtain a building permit and have the structure inspected by the county inspector; Councilmember Jason Bagley seconded. The roll call vote was Bagley, Johnson, Mathie and Payne in favor; the motion carried unanimously, 4-0.
