Council approves wellhead protection plan draft and will submit to state
Sunman council approved the final draft of a wellhead protection plan and directed staff to sign and forward it to the state for review; the plan maps the recharge radius and is intended to protect the town's aquifer and drinking-water source.

Utility department staff (speaker S6) presented the final rendition of the town's wellhead protection plan and described the red-line map as the aquifer recharge/recharge-rate boundary that feeds the drinking-water well field. Staff said the plan is essentially complete and needs a council vote and signatures before it is submitted to the state for acceptance.
