Power for Parkinson’s highlights free Austin classes and growing demand

A representative of Power for Parkinson’s described the organization’s weekly community offerings and urged broader awareness during Chronic Illness Awareness Month. The speaker said the nonprofit operates 13 free classes each week at 10 different Austin locations, serving several hundred people and caregivers, and that exercise and social connection help manage symptoms. "Parkinson's is the fastest growing neurodegenerative disease worldwide," the speaker said, noting an estimate of roughly 77,000 Texans living with the condition.
