Community Development Director Christy Goldberg told council the Legislature authorized $504,000 for a fire training facility under House Bill 5006 and staff solicited quotes; the recommended vendor (a specialized manufacturer) provided the best match for operational needs and long-term training goals. Goldberg presented a bid in the amount of $567,612.05 and said the vendor offered discounts (10% on materials and 5% on labor) that made the selection acceptable to the city.
