Commission adopts three committee and board code amendments

On final reading the Commission adopted Ordinances 2025‑504, 2025‑505 and 2025‑506 updating the Beautification Committee, Development Review/Planning & Zoning sections, and Utility Board membership/meetings without substantive discussion.
During the Sept. 18 meeting the Commission completed second/final readings and unanimously adopted three ordinances updating committee and board provisions. Ordinance No. 2025‑504 amended beautification‑committee language; Ordinance No. 2025‑505 updated Development Review/Planning & Zoning code sections; and Ordinance No. 2025‑506 revised Utility Board membership and meeting rules. Each ordinance was presented with a business impact statement and proof of publication and passed on unanimous roll calls.
There was little substantive discussion on these items during final reading. City Attorney Dirk Smits confirmed procedural requirements were met and staff will codify the changes in the city code.
