Senate opens with invocation and several adjourn-in-memory requests
The Senate welcomed Elder Haywood Hannah for the invocation and several senators asked the chamber to adjourn in memory of recently deceased community members and relatives of lawmakers.

The Senate opened with an invocation led by Elder Haywood Hannah, introduced as pastor of Mount Salem United Methodist Church in Terry. In his prayer he asked colleagues to 'humble ourselves' and prayed 'for those that are not here' and for 'the marginalized in our state,' closing 'In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.'
