Select Board debates Bucky's Field priority, seeks appendix to townwide field-use policy

At the Select Board's second reading of a townwide field-use policy, several members argued to explicitly prioritize the Sabattus Rec Club for scheduling at Bucky's Field and to create facility-specific appendixes rather than a single generic policy. One select member said the rec club "should be the 1st priority for Buc Ee's Field," and the board discussed making Bucky's Field an exception or addendum so future administrators will see the priority in writing.

Board and public speakers also discussed operational details including trash removal responsibilities, prohibitions on discharge of firearms, and whether campfires or charcoal grills should be allowed. The board directed volunteers to draft the Bucky's Field and Martin's Point appendixes and asked staff to bring back a proposed layout for the revised policy at a future meeting.
