Rural Hall council acknowledges developer's annexation commitment for proposed data center, adopts Resolution 912 (3-1)
After extended discussion and public comment, the council adopted Resolution 912 to acknowledge the DRS group's written commitment to voluntarily petition for annexation of a proposed data center site and to withdraw formal opposition while preserving future council action; vote was 3-1.

Town Manager Dearman presented a draft Resolution 912, saying the town had received written commitments from representatives of the DRS group that the developer intends to voluntarily petition for annexation and memorialize that commitment in enforceable written form. He told the council the resolution would supersede Resolution 901, withdraw the town's formal opposition to the project, and direct town representatives to engage on annexation, fiscal impacts, community benefits, infrastructure, environmental considerations and other matters affecting Rural Hall.
