Licensing panel takes no action while Misfit Auto manager seeks name removal

The Springfield Board of Licensing Commissioners heard July 22 that the manager of record for Misfit Auto LLC, at 1567 State Street, wants her name removed from the business license and corporate records. "I do not. I want my name off the business certificate and the business license," said Jaya Villegas, who identified herself as the manager of record.
A staff member told the panel the commission controls the local business license but not corporate filings with the Secretary of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, which must be handled separately. An attendee who identified herself as Latrice Atkins said she would take over as manager and said she would file the required application. "I am gonna be the manager of records," she said while spelling her name aloud for the record.
The chair moved to take no action on Misfit Auto LLC pending completion of the paperwork; the motion was seconded and approved unanimously by the commissioners present (Commissioners Cade, D'Angelo Antonio, Safransky, and Espinosa). Staff instructed Atkins to visit the license office the next day to complete the change-of-manager application and said the commission could schedule a further hearing if the substitution was not completed in a timely manner.
