The Planning Board voted Feb. 9 to sunset the town's MVP (Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness) core committee — a staff‑heavy group that produced the Climate Resilient Carlisle report — and move to implementation. Julie said the group is largely staff and that the work now should shift to a staff‑led implementation with clear champions.
"We would like to be sunset at some point so that we can just focus on implementation," the committee discussion recorded as the staff view. The board requested an implementation matrix that identifies lead and supporting entities for each recommendation and asked staff to discuss whether Select Board endorsement would strengthen accountability for cross‑department actions.
Staff said some MVP recommendations are already being integrated into ongoing bylaw work (historic‑preservation and wetlands updates) and noted the need to keep volunteers, commissioners and community volunteers engaged as staff take on implementation. The board authorized staff to proceed with sunsetting the committee while reporting back on assignment of responsibilities and any Select Board coordination.
