Senior Services reports construction challenges, donations and growing Meals on Wheels demand
Senior Services reported construction progress on a CDBG-funded building project, $15,000 in recent donations, 62,312 midyear meals served (98% subsidized), and midyear tax-subsidized operations of $142,347; staff flagged temporary parking and contractor change-orders related to site conditions.

Rosie Walter, presenting the Senior Services quarterly update, said the department's building renovation is funded by a community development block grant and has required three change orders for unforeseen site conditions such as bad soil; staff are correcting a misspelled sign and working with the contractor on schedule impacts. Walter said the department received $5,000 from the McKeown and Minicoll Foundation and $10,000 from Meals on Wheels America after completing a survey tied to a large national donation.
