Commission invites public comment before Aug. 28 vote on tribal compact amendments

The Washington State Gambling Commission will accept public comment on the proposed Tulalip and Cowlitz compact amendments via email, during the commission’s public meeting on Aug. 28, 2026, or through other posted comment channels; any amendment becomes effective only after Federal Register publication.

Commission staff told the joint committees that public comment on the proposed restated compacts can be submitted by email (address listed on the commission website), by signing up to speak at the commission’s public meeting on Aug. 28, 2026 at 9:30 a.m., or by participating in the posted public-comment period. Staff emphasized that any compact amendment would not become effective until it is published in the Federal Register.
