Commission repeals Resaca fee after PUB recommendation
Following a recommendation from the Brownsville Public Utilities Board, commissioners adopted an ordinance to eliminate the Resaca fee; staff said elimination will apply to the first billing month after the ordinance becomes effective to allow PUB staff time to implement system changes.

The City Commission adopted an ordinance repealing the Resaca fee after the Brownsville Public Utilities Board (PUB) recommended elimination. PUB representatives reviewed the history and options and said they had considered elimination or reduction; the commission previously approved first reading on June 16 and, after a PUB resolution on July 13 endorsing elimination, the commission completed second reading and repeal.
