Staff says current restriping is routine maintenance; parking-design work likely delayed

"That is just standard city maintenance that's probably been deferred for quite a while," the staff member said in response to a board question, adding that the parking-design project budgeted in the CRA would be used to identify additional parking (right-of-way or city property) and build a new lot if appropriate. Staff recommended moving the $30,000 parking-design allocation into park improvements if the design work is unlikely to be executed this fiscal year.
The board discussed whether pursuing grant funding for park lighting could free the $30,000 for other uses; staff said grants remain an option but recommended spending CRA funds if the goal is to demonstrate CRA project activity before the fiscal year ends.
