City staff reported that work on City Hall (referred to as 'City Hall 88 improvements' in the meeting packet) is underway and that an opening is scheduled for Dec. 20. Staff said they held a pre-bid meeting with two construction firms expected to bid on the elevator portion of the project and noted the scope also includes new bathrooms and accessible front doors to allow access to the upstairs council room.
A staff member told the council the general contractors present have experience with elevator work and that the elevator installation will likely be subcontracted to a specialist. The discussion also covered roof improvements, which remain without full funding, and multiple projects that remain in place from previous months.
