Mead trustees approve roundabout art contract amid resident pushback

Trustees voted to approve Resolution 40‑R‑2026, authorizing an art fabrication and installation agreement for the Mead Gateway at County Road 34 and I‑25 with artist Karen Yanks. Trustee Crane said he pulled the item so constituents could ask why the project was prioritized and why funds were committed to artwork rather than other amenities, and he said several residents asked “why do we need to spend that much money?”
