Staff described the eligible city projects included in the CIP fiscal note as the Old Town shared use path, the Quince Orchard Boulevard shared use path, the Industrial Drive shared use path, the Washingtonian Boulevard shared use path, the Conservation Lane shared use path, the West Deer Park Road shared use path, the Kentlands shared use path, and the I‑270 NIST East Side shared use path. Chair commented that the list’s focus on pedestrian and bicycle safety is clearly important.
City Manager Tanisha Bridal said the city has "shovel ready projects that are going to make a difference in people's lives," and the committee recorded approval of the CIP amendment and the associated supplemental appropriation to program the $11.6 million to those projects.
