Children's Network reports spending and marketing progress; commission hears update on CHANCE program effort

Heather Cozzola of Hillsborough County Children's Services updated the commission that the Children's Network had invoiced about $50,303 (roughly half of its allotment) and has approximately $50,196 remaining; she said the network is preparing two-minute recruitment and human-trafficking-awareness videos that will be launched as part of marketing efforts. "They have, as of June, they've invoiced... a little over 0.5, so $50,303," she reported, and noted remaining funds for July through September.
Commission member Rob and others noted that the CHANCE program had advanced through the legislature but was vetoed by the governor this session; Rob encouraged commissioners to review the Office of Program Performance and Government Accountability report on commercial sexual exploitation of children for data to inform future efforts. The commission agreed to continue coordinating marketing and foster-parent recruitment outreach.
