Board approves PIP, variable‑term waivers and several revised/new job descriptions

The Tehachapi Unified School Board approved several personnel and human-resources items on July 21, voting to adopt a provisional internship permit (PIP) for an educator with extended support needs, grant variable-term waivers for recently hired staff, and approve revised and new job descriptions for roles including Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Director of Student Support Services, a new Chief Administrator of Student Support Services, and Psychologist Supervisor.

Vice President Kelly moved and trustees seconded the motions; the board recorded votes of 4-0 on each listed item. Trustees questioned sequencing—specifically how a revised job description that reports to a new chief administrator could be approved before the new chief administrator job description was considered—but the board adjusted the order of items, approved the chief administrator description and then approved the dependent director description to address that concern. The actions formalize position descriptions and certification actions; Human Resources is assigned to implement the approved job descriptions and permits.
