The chair opened a combined organizational/committee session and the committee moved through organizational business, including the election of a committee secretary. A committee member nominated Senator McClendon for secretary: "Mister chairman, I'd like to nominate senator McClendon as secretary of the committee," the nominator said. The motion passed by voice vote with no opposition recorded.
