The Tangipahoa Parish Council on Feb. 9 authorized staff to seek bids for the Ponchatoula Pedestrian Improvements project covering North 5th Street and East Beech Street sidewalk extensions. President Miller advised the project is funded by a Federal Transit Administration (FTA) grant and will not require a parish monetary contribution, though the grant application must be submitted through the parish.
