Solid Waste and Recycling Director Brenda Annie explained that maintaining current service levels amid growth requires additional personnel and equipment. For FY27, the department is requesting seven new FTEs (including four for residential collections) and funds to acquire land for a first transfer station to consolidate waste, reduce long‑haul trips and lower operational costs as west‑side development expands.
