Council highlights growth and equity questions in non-degree credentialing

Abby Chien and Amy Ellen Duke-Benfield told the Washington Student Achievement Council that changing student demographics and employer demands are driving growth in non-degree credentials, including certificates and industry certifications. They reported that at least 32 states have invested a combined $5.6 billion in non-degree credential initiatives and said Washington is investing through Opportunity Grants and wage-target strategies.
