Utilities Director Obe Tejada outlined water and sewer enterprise priorities, telling the council the department must comply with new state requirements to assess for polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAs) and continue a multi-year effort to identify lead in water service lines. Tejada also described planned SCADA upgrades, meter-reading base stations, backflow-prevention inspections and a new state drinking-water fee.
