Trainer walks board through four-step school land trust plan process

A trainer led the Morgan District work meeting through the four-step structure of a school land trust plan, explaining that councils typically review academic data, identify greatest academic needs, set goals and create action plans tied to expenditures. "So any school land trust plan really goes through these 4 steps," the trainer said, framing the review and development roles for councils and boards.

The trainer told board members to look for alignment between academic areas, goals, measurements and spending when reviewing plans. He offered examples of acceptable measurement tools (statewide assessments, district CFAs and teacher formative assessments) and urged consistency across schools. The trainer also offered templates and invited districts to contact the state team for support.
