Seneca County proclaims July 2026 Child Support Awareness Month; CSEA reports $4.12M collected

The Seneca County Board of Commissioners proclaimed July 2026 as Child Support Awareness Month and heard a presentation from county child support staff about local caseloads and outreach efforts.

The Child Support Administrator told the board, “So far this year, we've collected $4,123,187.35,” and said the office had 4,394 open cases as of June 30. The administrator also said the office handles an average of about 670 phone calls per month and currently has two leaders plus eight staff and one vacancy. The administrator identified the office as the county’s Child Support Enforcement Agency (CSEA).

The administrator reviewed outreach planned for early August, including a local billboard campaign and a courthouse cupola lighting and noted that the first Wednesday in August is promoted as a ‘Wear Green Day’ to raise awareness.
