Facilitators outline goal‑setting method and promise a summary report

Facilitator Trina introduced the session as a foundation‑setting exercise, saying the facilitators’ role is to collect perspectives and help the governing body find alignment rather than to make decisions. She described the workshop as three parts: establish norms to guide productive discussion, identify qualities and practices that will help the council serve the community, and use an exercise of independent thought followed by affinity grouping and multi‑voting to surface priorities.
"Our role here for today is as facilitators... it is not our role to make decisions, to advise you in any way," Trina said. She explained the post‑it/dot method and emphasized the deliverable: the facilitator team will produce a summary report that captures discussion outcomes, suggested next steps and optional strategic‑planning flowcharts for council consideration.
