County identifies top code violations: high grass, open storage and inoperable vehicles
DeKalb officials said high weeds and grass, open storage of indoor items and inoperable/unregistered vehicles are the county’s top code complaints this season and that repeat offenders increasingly will receive citations rather than warnings.

DeKalb County code compliance officials listed their most common summer complaints and said the department is shifting from repeated warning notices to more citations for habitual violators. “We have a high weeds and grass problem. We have an open storage problem, and we have a raggedy vehicle problem,” the Director said, adding that more than 80% of violations are repeats.
