Census webinar walks users through data.census.gov fundamentals

Faith Whittington, the webinar host from the U.S. Census Bureau, opened the session and said, "My name is Faith Whittington, and I am going to be your host for today's event on data.census.gov fundamentals for all users." The webinar, recorded for later posting, set out to teach participants how to find and use Census Bureau data on the agency's primary public platform.
Tyson Weister, who works in the Center for Enterprise Dissemination and oversees data.census.gov, framed the site as "the primary platform to get data from the Census Bureau," including decennial census data (back to 2000), American Community Survey data and selected economic surveys. He closed by listing resources — the Census Academy, workshops, local data dissemination specialists and contact emails — for attendees who want follow-up help.
