Board staff laid out an early budget outlook that balanced a one-time-looking increase in the state school fund against multi-year payroll cost growth. "They bumped the state school fund up to 11.3, which would be about a $400,000 increase," the staff member leading the budget discussion said. "Until you see what PERS rates have done, which will eat over 0.5 of that," the staff member added, cautioning that PERS increases could consume roughly $220,000–$250,000 of the new money.
