District to replace Galileo with Master E Connect for 2026-27 benchmark testing

Jamie Russell, coordinator of the assessment program, briefed the board on changes to the district's testing plan for 2026-27 after the loss of the Galileo product.
"Our Galileo assessment went away last year. Their company's not offering that product from September on," Russell said. She explained the district selected a replacement, Master E Connect (an Instructure product related to Canvas), and will begin with an initial benchmark to allow teachers to adapt gradually to the new format.
Russell said the new platform allows teachers to add classroom-level data and see trends over time rather than waiting longer for full-year predictive assessments. She noted there were only a small number of vendors that cover math, science and social studies together, and the new vendor provides a single integrated platform.
Board members asked about vendor stability and length of commitment; Russell said the company has been operating for about 15 years and guaranteed service for at least one year, and the district vetted options after learning of Galileo's end in December.
The board approved the testing schedule for 2026-27 as part of the consent agenda later in the meeting.
