Commission previews comprehensive-plan engagement and state changes affecting subdivisions

At the end of the July 22 meeting the chair and staff alerted residents to upcoming public engagement about the town’s comprehensive plan and recent state legislation that changes subdivision and density procedures. Staff described the comprehensive plan as the town’s 20‑year vision and said public drafts and engagement materials will be released in the near term.

The chair noted the state legislature enacted changes intended to encourage higher densities and speed approvals for new housing, and said the planning office will incorporate those statutory changes into upcoming guidance and public meetings. Residents were invited to review materials on the town website and participate in scheduled meetings.
