Board hears legislative update; proposal would add accountability measures for schools

S5 warned the board of potential consequences if targets are not met: the state could direct FIA funding and up to 25% of the district's state school fund spending in repeated noncompliance scenarios; S5 gave an estimate that the district could see nearly $600,000 in FIA and nearly $1,000,000 in state school fund action under that scenario. Board members raised concerns about using K' attendance as a metric and the difficulty of accounting for illness seasons.
