The City of Altamont council on Feb. 26 authorized the city administrator to solicit requests for qualifications for pre-construction engineering and project management on the KDOT-funded sidewalk project. Councilmember Kyle Wiford moved the action and Councilmember Lyle Sykes seconded; the minutes record the motion as carried but do not provide a roll-call tally.
Staff reported that office personnel finalized temporary easement construction forms needed for the work and that utility relocations will be required under the sidewalk grant. Utility staff said gas meters were installed or moved to 412 Washington Ave. and 505 Virginia Ave. to accommodate the project and that three utility locates were called in for upcoming relocation work. No construction contract was awarded at the meeting; the next procedural step recorded is issuance of RFQs and subsequent selection of pre-construction services.
