The board voted to delegate a set of routine administrative authorities to the superintendent and business administrator for 07/01/2026–06/30/2027. Delegated powers include signing certified payrolls, approving staff attendance at conferences and workshops, applying for state and federal grants, signing federal certifications, executing annually renewed contracts and making budget transfers up to $25,000.
Board members asked for clarification on the sale and excising of school property (what level of transaction requires a board vote versus superintendent signature) and on emergency conditional appointments. The superintendent explained emergency conditional appointments are typically used for time-sensitive hires such as food service workers, facilities staff and bus drivers; conditional appointment letters make hires provisional pending formal board approval.
